On Wednesday, December 3, Future Citizens brings the inspiring story of Alaa to the stage at Theater Zuidplein, Rotterdam.

Born in Damascus, Alaa was forced to leave everything behind due to war and loss. In the Netherlands, he started over – learning the language, earning a Master’s degree at Erasmus University, and finding his place at Deloitte through New Dutch Connections. Today he works as a consultant and mentor, guiding newcomers who dream of a new beginning.

This edition marks a new direction for Future Citizens: as part of the corporate module with Deloitte, the event connects refugees, employers, and the audience in a live matchmaking setting. Together, we explore how talent, study, and inclusion can shape a stronger society.

An evening of theatre, music, and human connection – about creating opportunities and building a future that includes everyone.

Future Citizens – Werk, Studie & Integratie

Op woensdag 3 december brengt Future Citizens het inspirerende verhaal van Alaa op het podium van Theater Zuidplein in Rotterdam.

Alaa groeide op in Damascus en moest alles achterlaten door oorlog en verlies. In Nederland begon hij opnieuw – hij leerde de taal, studeerde aan de Erasmus Universiteit en vond via New Dutch Connections en Deloitte zijn plek in de samenleving. Vandaag werkt hij als consultant én begeleidt hij andere nieuwkomers die hun weg zoeken in werk en studie.

Deze editie van Future Citizens markeert een nieuwe stap: de voorstelling maakt deel uit van de bedrijfsmodule in samenwerking met Deloitte, waarin statushouders, werkgevers en publiek elkaar ontmoeten. Samen onderzoeken we hoe talent en inclusie hand in hand kunnen gaan.

Een avond vol theater, muziek en echte ontmoetingen – over kansen creëren, samenwerken en bouwen aan een toekomst waarin iedereen meedoet.
